If I could have dinner with one person, dead or alive it would be… Ernest Hemingway When I wake up the first thing I do or think about is…. do I or don’t I want bacon this morning?…I usually do

Technology

As with many aspects of life, technology makes dentistry easier, more accurate, and more successful. Dr. Leif Gambee is dedicated to investing in our patients’ smiles by implementing the latest technologies and advancements into our Carlton dental office. Here are a few ways that technology makes your dentistry better. We are happy to show them off at your next appointment.

Digital Dental X-Rays

Digital dental x-rays are the safest way to detect underlying oral conditions in the early stages before an emergency develops. Because they emit up to 80 percent less radiation than film x-rays, they keep you safe too. Images appear instantly on the screen for you to review with Dr. Gambee. Together, you can look at your oral health conditions and make a decision that protects your smile.

We know the environment is something that people from Oregon care about. Digital x-rays eliminate the need for dangerous chemicals for development.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

We have heard once or twice that patients sometimes don’t love to have dentistry. We never take your concerns personally, but instead, we offer solutions to dental anxiety and fear. Nitrous oxide sedation promotes relaxation and feelings of wellbeing, and helps patients cope with the anxiety that would otherwise keep them from getting the dental care they need.

Nitrous oxide sedation is the safest method available, even for kids! It is delivered through a small nose mask and enters the system quickly for immediate relief. It also leaves the system quickly, which means you can drive yourself home from your appointment.

Electric Handpieces

Electric handpieces reduce the noise and vibration that were common with air-driven handpieces. They stay cool, reduce friction, and make treatment faster too.

Intraoral Camera

Don’t you wish you could see what your dentist sees when he looks in your mouth? Well, at Carlton Dental, you can! Dr. Gambee uses an intraoral camera to snap high-resolution pictures of your teeth and inside your mouth. He can then display the images on your treatment room monitor for you both to look at together. We believe that seeing is believing! With the help of an intraoral camera, you can gain a deeper understanding of your oral health and use that knowledge to make an informed choice for your smile.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays give us a full-mouth view of your teeth, gums, bone, and joints. Dr. Gambee often recommends panoramic x-rays for patients who need dental implants, extractions, or orthodontics. Panoramic x-rays are digital and capture the entire dentition by moving around your head in just a few seconds.

You will need to remove earrings, nose rings, necklaces, or other jewelry or it will appear on your x-ray, which might look interesting, but could interfere with your diagnosis.

Rotary Endodontics

Root canals have a reputation for being painful and lengthy procedures. With modern rotary endodontics, your root canal will be quick and painless, and can potentially save your tooth. If you have swelling, pain, or sensitivity, give Carlton Dental a call. Dr. Gambee is experienced in root canal therapy.

You will feel much improved once you have had your root canal treatment and can look forward to smiling with confidence.
